retirement destination: open-mind is tough

I wish to be the rational yet bold planner when it comes to retirement planning.

By definition, if I’m perfectly rational and use my own weighted criteria to benchmark dozens of popular retirement destinations across the world, I will find the most economical solution, that maximizes our happiness and well-being. In reality, the uncertainty factor (fear or unknown) might be the Achilles heel of the rational planner. In reality, you need to live in a place for a year to be sure it works for you.
